Mr. Alibhai is a renowned business man and the founder of a number of successful start-up businesses in Eastern and Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as acquiring various existing businesses. Maheboob is a founding member of the Young Presidents’ Organization Chapter in Nairobi – YPO Gold Nairobi Chapter, member of YPO Africa Great Lakes Chapter, YPO Africa Great Leopard Valley Chapter, member of YPO Pan Africa Chapter, member of Chief Executives’ Organization (CEO) and a founder member of TiE Africa. Mr. Alibhai enjoys playing golf and travelling.

The CEO of the insurance company, since 2020, is a seasoned professional with a diverse background. Holding an Associate of the Insurance Institute of India and a degree in Veterinary Husbandry, he began his career in 1988 at the National Insurance Company, Limited in India. Over the years, he has demonstrated his expertise by occupying various positions in different locations across India. Notably, he served as CEO for seven and a half years in Nepal, showcasing his leadership skills and international experience.

Beyond his operational roles, the CEO is a certified trainer for Quality Management, underscoring his commitment to excellence and continuous improvement within the insurance industry. His unique combination of insurance knowledge, international leadership, and quality management expertise positions him as a dynamic and capable leader steering the company through the evolving landscape of the insurance sector.

Accomplished Operations Executive with a remarkable 38-year career history, excelling in pivotal areas such as Underwriting, Claims, Marketing, Reinsurance, Strategic Planning, and Techno-marketing. Proven track record in Operations Management with a focus on Techno-marketing.

Known for identifying opportunities to enhance risk management practices and establishing effective risk mitigation procedures. Possesses extensive expertise in Reinsurance concepts and a robust technical understanding of all aspects of Reinsurance Operations.

Demonstrates exceptional negotiation skills in arranging Facultative Reinsurance placements for diverse portfolios, specializing in Complex and Specialty Risks. Proficient in financial analysis, including comprehensive understanding of financial statements, cash flow, budgeting, and investment decision-making.

Agostinho Hamate is  a seasoned financial executive with a career spanning multiple accounting roles, culminating in a current position within the insurance sector.

Having transitioned into the insurance sector, the CFO has accumulated valuable expertise in this specialized field. This professional journey has equipped him with a nuanced perspective on financial management, risk assessment, and strategic decision-making within the context of the insurance industry, his trajectory reflects a commitment to excellence in financial leadership and a diverse skill set that contribute to the success of our organization.

Henrique Gilberto Langa is a Law graduate from Saint Tomas University and a licensed Lawyer registered with the Mozambican Bar Association. With nine years of professional experience in the private sector, he has a diverse background encompassing Legal, Human Resources, Hospitality, Trading, and Insurance industries. His admission to the bar in 2019 marked the beginning of his career at a law firm, where he engaged in various sectors, including litigation, insurance, civil and commercial law, compliance, and Credit Recovery. He approaches his work with immense enthusiasm, consistently contributing value to the teams he collaborates with.

Presently employed at Phoenix Companhia de Seguros within the insurance sector since 2020, Henrique serves as a Legal Officer and is an integral part of the Senior Management team. In this role, he closely collaborates with the Chief Finance Officer and Chief Operations Officer, providing legal expertise across multiple domains. His responsibilities encompass facilitating and advising on diverse areas, including engagement with regulatory bodies such as the Regulator’s Office, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Immigration, Interior Ministry, Courts, and others. Henrique specializes in matters related to KYC and AML compliance, litigation, patent laws, and all other legal affairs.

Typical is an insurance practitioner who holds a Certificate in Proficiency in Insurance from the Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe (IIZ). As a claims technician he has handled both personal lines and commercial claims portfolios. Having started his career more than 22 years ago as an account he switched on to become a claims manager. As a Claims Manager in Mozambique Typical has successfully handled claims which include general fire and allied perils, warehouses, fidelity guarantee, special stock risk analysis etc.  He has experience in claims handling of losses which include fidelity guarantee, fire and allied perils, contractors all risks, theft, plant all risks, engineering, goods in transit, motor (including investigations), death/injury at workplaces (gained from dealing with Personal Accident claims in Mozambique). Lastly, Typical has proven his investigative capabilities on motor accidents and Third-Party liability claims. He has managed to save from paying certain fraudulent/dubious claims.

Ms. Alibhai holds a BSc Economics from the University of Nottingham U.K. and MSc Real Estate Economics & Finance from the London School of Economics. She has been actively involved in setting up new companies in Kenya and in Southern Africa. She is a Director in various companies which include general insurance, micro lending, real estate, just to name a few. In her leisure time, she enjoys reading and commodity trading.

Mr. Virjee is a fellow of Certified Public Accounts of Kenya, Fellow of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK), an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He has over 36 years’ experience in various field including in auditing, tax advisory services, financial advisory services in both public and private sectors. Mr. Virjee has held directorship in several companies both in Kenya and in other countries, that are into General Insurance, Stock Broking, Retail, Manufacturing, Real Estates, Financial & Management Consulting where he has chaired various committees.

Ms. Umar holds a PhD in International Health, MBA, Post graduate studies in Management Control Systems, Performance, and a degree in Business Administration. In addition, she holds a degree in Principles and Practices of Islamic Insurance. She has professional association with the Auditors and Chartered Accountants Board of Mozambique among many others. Ms. Uma has participated in many success projects in Mozambique and abroad. She has also held Directorship in several companies.

Mr. Hélder holds a holds a post-Graduate degree in Financial Operations from Eduardo Mondlane University in collaboration with the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and a Law Degree from Eduardo Mondlane University and attended Post-Graduate Course in Corporate Governance, Risk and Compliance in the International Compliance Association (ICA), where is a member.

Is a member of the Mozambique Bar Association and the International Bar Association, assigned to the Banking Law Committee.

He has 18 years of experience working in the public and private sector, having stood out in the financial sector as a senior banking supervisor at the Bank of Mozambique in the areas of micro-prudential, macro-prudential, Conduct/Consumer protection, money laundering and payment systems and later as a member of the Exco at MyBucks Mozambique for the Risk area, initially heading the Risk, Compliance, Legal, Credit and Credit Recovery Departments.
